At ENTOCARE we specialize in application of biological pest control in situations that are not 'standard' and that demand special treatment. These are for instance greenhouses of botanical gardens, greenhouses used in research, indoor plantscapes in offices.

More and more we are being asked to develop biological solutions to reputed 'difficult pests' in large scale cultures. The experience and knowledge about various lesser known beneficials that we have built up in our work in botanical gardens, indoor plantscapes and research facilities now turns out to be of great value in developing programs for biological control of f.i. mealybugs and soft scales in ornamental flower cultures.

Since a few years we are involved in biological protection of trees in urban areas. Ecological management of public parks asks for application of environmentally safe strategies of protection, amongst which is the use of natural enemies. In this line of work, we regularly encounter new challenges, like new pests that entered our country carried by plants, or familiar natural enemies that must be used in new and unknown environments.

We like finding solutions to those challenges and regard this as an important part of our job that must be given adequate time.
