sticky traps

Horiver sticky traps : Dimensions: 25x10 cm (small) and 25x 40 cm (large) Color: blue or yellow

Use: Horiver plates and rollers are used to trap insects or to detect them. Generally, roller glue traps is mainly used for trapping pests in areas of high pest pressure or where a heavy pest pressure is expected.

Operation: Horiver plates are adhesive and insects stick on them. This way they kept away from the crop and can easily be counted to determine the pest pressure. Yellow plates are used for catching whitefly, leaf miner, aphids, thrips and fungus gnats. And blue plates are used for catching thrips and fungus gnats.

Method: Hang strip just above the crop. Be sure to hang the product at room temperature. Then the glue becomes softer. Move the sheets up as the crop grows. If there is a significant numbers of parasites captured on the flying plates, they must be removed and changed with new ones.

Application: For monitoring purposes hang 5 traps (Horiver) per 1000 m2. If the traps have to contribute to the control highly infested point, use at least one trap per 20 m2. Both large and small plates can be used.

pheromone and pheromonetraps

Available pheromone dispensers: citrus, vegetables owl moth Turkish, Florida moth, owl range, cabbage leaf roller, cabbage moth, carnation leaf roller, chestnut leaf miner, miller, rose beetles. Several types available on request.
Pheromone dispensers maximum life time: 1 year stored at a temperature below 4 ° C.

Use: Pheromone dispensers are species specific. They are available for various kinds of insects species, for example moths / butterflies as well as flies, beetles and mealy bugs. In combination with a suitable trap dispensers, pheromones can be used for signaling, determining the extent of the pest or pest identification.

Operation: Pheromone dispensers spreading an attractive fragrance specific to the 'target insects species'. The dispensers are used in combination with a trap where  insects can be identified  and counted.

Procedure: Mount the trap correctly (depending on the type). Put the lime at the bottom of the trap and daubed the side up. Place the pheromone capsule on the pheromone glue or attach to the trap and hang the trap in a suitable location so that it can be seen regularly. Do not touch the capsule by hand, otherwise the pheromone will stick your hands and elsewhere your hands will touch. Replace the capsule every 6 weeks.

Application: Pheromone traps can be used outdoors and in greenhouses. For some pest species, it is important to know when the adult insects are present to control. The number of traps to be used depends on the pest. Ask for advice.

bumblebees

MINIPOL or NATUPOL
Product: Bombus terrestris (earth bumblebee)
Packaging Minipol, hive Contents: colony with brood (pupae, larvae and eggs) and sugar water solution.
Packaging NATUPOL, Content hive: queen colony, worker bees and brood (pupae, larvae and eggs), sugar water solution tank

precautions: Bumblebees are attracted to certain colors and fragrances. Blue clothes, aftershave, makeup, etc. can attract bumblebees. Bumblebees are not aggressive and rarely stabbing them. In the unlikely event that a bumblebee would sting, it will cause in the most cases only local swelling and itching. This is not alarming! Azaron (available at drugstores) reduces pain or itching. However, some people develop in the second or subsequent time they are stung a hypersensitivity reaction. This would, for example itch in other places than where they were stung or experience skin redness, blisters, breathing difficulties, nausea, sneezing, irritation in the nose, throat or eyes.

Operation: Place the hive in a conspicuous place so they are still clearly visible and not obstructed access by the crop. The best place is on a horizontal surface (if the hive is straightened leakage of the sugar water solution can occur). Ensure that each colony has enough space to allow the bubblebees to fly in and out of the hyve. Let the bumblebee colony resting at least 10 minutes after placing before opening the flight wholes. To prevent loss of workers, it is important to open the flight hole at a time when the vents are closed (usually early morning or at the end of the afternoon).

Climate: Minipol performs best at an ambient temperature of 8-28 ° C, 50-85% RH NATUPOL performs best at an ambient temperature of 17-28 ° C.

The comments: Sugar water solution provided is usually sufficient for the entire life of the colony. Ensure that ants cannot reach the nest, by using insect glue or grease a barrier to avoid contact between plant parts and the nest. If pollination activity for a longer period is required, nesting boxes should be regularly replaced by new ones.

Visible effect: For most crops bumblebees leave no visible traces of their activity behind. However, when a bumblebee visited a tomato flower, the flowers may turn brown after a little while. The browning occurs only after one to several hours after visiting the flower. This depends on the time of year and weather conditions.

Application: For optimum fruit setting of tomato and many other crops in protected and outdoor crops.
