Intern research
Within our company we continually look for new natural enemies against new or old pest species. In horticulture we regularly encounter new pests which biological control agents are not yet available or that the biological control is still ineffective.
We notice an increasing interest in different sectors such as nurserymen, horticulture and fruit growers for use of biological control. In those sectors are certainly possibilities to control pest with the use of natural enemies. We have already experienced it. We are very motivated by the challenge of stepping forward to a better biological control system. This is why we invest in research for potentially new useful products and to develop them into suitable biological control programs.
Contract research
Entocare also conducts research on behalf of or in collaboration with other parties. We have extensive experience and expertise in many research issues. We have previously studied various pest control, both in the field and in greenhouses, in the Netherlands and abroad. Some examples:
- Woolly aphid and scale insects in ornamental
- Apple aphid and their native natural enemies
- Chestnut leaf miner
- Thrips in floriculture in Dutch greenhouses
- Caterpillars in the cultivation of rooibos (South Africa)
- Native beech aphid and their natural enemies
- Combat harmful bugs in Dutch greenhouses and elsewhere in outdoor crops
- Control of mites in viburnum
With our extensive experience in rearing insects we can set-up a rearing process for pest insects or potential natural enemy quickly. Therefore we can also provide insects for experiments.
